Marriage, one of the keys to a happy life!

Its been a super long time since either of us posted anything about anything on here. Becky and Christina have a great blog called, Dear Beautiful You, and most of Becky's time goes towards that. So let me recap: We went to Cancun, Mexico, Disneyland, and Oregon. Becky is now in Susanville for a funeral service of a dear friend. To say the least, we have been traveling. I am taking the summer off from school and plan to take two more heavy semesters while working full time so I can finish my associates the spring of 2014. The reason I wanted to write is because I want to share an inspiring video I watched this morning before work.

Please watch it, but be prepared with some Kleenex.

I just love Becky soooo much. Marriage is wonderful and I am extremely blessed to have her. I cant picture my life with anyone else. She really is my better half and I want to strive to be selfless for her as we grow in an interdependent relationship. I cant wait to raise a family with her, watch her grow in her talents and also grow old with her.

First Christmas as Mr. & Mrs. Hubbard

I LOVE CHRISTMAS.
everything about it.

We did so many wonderful things this year for Christmas. We made Christmas cookies, watched Christmas movies, baked lots of goodies, drank lots of hot chocolate, took Christmas pictures, sent out Christmas cards, cut down our own tree, went and saw the lights on Temple Square, had our own little Christmas here and then we went home and saw both of our families! It was the best Christmas ever!

It was just so full of happiness! (As you can see!)

Here we are hunting, cutting, dragging & decorating our first Christmas tree together.

We sent out some Christmas Cards! So we had to take some Christmas Pictures. The sister-in-law Shannon (AKA: Channy) took them for us. They turned out great! Here are some of my favorites!

This is one I edited and sent out - we had to send out two different cards. (Long story!) But we love the picture. The background is awesome!

We made Christmas Cookies together!

We went to the Gateway Christmas Tree lighting! So great!

We went to see the lights on Temple Square a couple times, but these are some pictures from our favorite time with the Andersons & Geof Smith!

There were A LOT of funny faces made that night and most caught on camera!

 Preciousness!

We went home for Christmas this year! We flew in to Reno on Saturday, rented a car and drove through a blizzard to get to Susanville! We spent the day with my family and they threw me & my brother-in-law Tim a birthday party Saturday night! Almost the whole family was there - it was such a good time.

{The last few years my Mom has turned the Christmas tree into a Birthday tree.
I LOVE IT! It's so sweet of her.}

We went to church Sunday morning. It was snowing so hard the power went out! It was actually really special having Sacrament meeting in the dark. I held Ella as she slept on my chest and BJ had his arm around me while we listened to special Christmas musical numbers. I didn't want it to end! After church, we went back to my parents, ate lunch and dug the car out of the snow and started our journey toward Gardnerville to spend Christmas with BJ's family! It was quite a trek in our little rental car, but thankfully we made it safely. Before we left for Christmas we had our own little Christmas here at home. It was such a fun day for us.
BJ got a harmonic in his stocking! He was pretty excited!

Aww, my hubby has a tender side!
He got me the next part of my willow tree nativity set! The metal star backdrop!

Hmmmmm..... what could be in there?
A BANJO! This boy has been talking about getting a banjo someday for as long as I've known him. Now we are ready for a bluegrass band!
Our love plate :)

BJ made us some very festive waffles! Red & green M&M waffles. SO good.

The next morning we flew out to Reno. We were so excited! It was such an amazing 4 days. Christmas day is also my birthday and BJ's family was so sweet with making me feel special for my birthday on Christmas. I'm very thankful for all the efforts and generosity we were given this Christmas.

Christmas Eve. We went shooting! We shot BJ's old 22 that he gave to his little brother and his 30-06. That gun was intense! Had a nice little kick to it.

Later that night we all went to Grandma & Grandpa Sikes for dinner and some gift exchanges! Every year they have rolled tacos and beans. It was delicious!

Christmas morning hot chocolate with little BJ. Isn't he just adorable!?
We had a white Christmas!

Our First Christmas as Husband & Wife.
 Family Shot!

It was a wonderful Christmas (and Birthday!)We were able to see so many people that we love and that's what it's really all about.

The next morning we woke up at 3:30 and hit the road at 4:00. Our flight was supposed to leave at 6:20.... we barely made it onto the plane at 6:15. Good thing we ran through the airport because we then sat inside the plane for 2 HOURS! The plane had to be de-iced. It was so bad they ran out of de-icing fluid so they had to go refill the truck which took an extra 30 minutes at least! It was a little crazy, BJ was late for work but we got back as soon as we could.
Thank goodness for cards! It kept us busy for awhile.

The day after Christmas was also our 1 year anniversary of BJ proposing. It was so fun to think about it and remember the feelings from that moment. One of my favorite moments in my life so far. I sure do love that boy.

I just found this video of BJ reading a letter to him that was in my "engagement time capsule". It made me laugh. I'm so weird.

Okay, I need to wrap this up. It was a very special Christmas. One I will never forget, my first one as Mrs. Hubbard!
